Two ways to experience a full day underground
Whether you’re completely new or already have some experience, we offer two clear options to help you choose the right level of adventure.
Caving Taster Day - A relaxed introduction to caving
This course is perfect if it’s your first time caving or you’re looking for a more relaxed full day experience in the Peak District. You’ll explore cave systems, discovering natural formations, underground passages, and how caves are formed. The pace is steady, giving you plenty of time to take everything in and build confidence as you go. Depending on the day, we may spend the whole time exploring one cave in depth, or combine two different venues into a varied day of underground adventure.
If you’ve tried Half Day Caving, this is the ideal next step. It gives you more time underground and the chance to explore further.
It's ideal if you:
- Are new to caving
- Want a full day caving experience in the Peak District without it feeling too intense
- Prefer a steady pace with time to explore
Caving Adventure Day - A more challenging caving experience
Maybe you’ve already tried caving and are ready for the next challenge or just want something more adventurous, this option is for you.
You’ll explore longer and more technical caves, with opportunities to develop basic skills and tackle more physically demanding sections. Expect climbing, squeezing, crawling, and abseiling.
An ideal choice if you:
- Have done some caving before
- Want a more challenging caving experience in the Peak District
- Are keen to build confidence and develop your underground skills
What to Expect
You’ll meet your instructor at 9.30am before following us a short drive to one of the Peak District’s many cave systems, typically in the Hope Valley or Stoney Middleton area.
After getting kitted out and running through a safety briefing, you’ll head underground for a full day of exploration. Depending on your chosen option and conditions, you may explore one cave in depth or visit multiple cave systems.
Your instructor will adapt the route and pace to suit your group, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and rewarding day underground.
