Mountain Biking in The Peak District
Mountain biking in the Peak District offers some of the best riding in the country. It offers variety, fun, challenge and technical difficulty. It has it all and we are happy to offer you mountain bike guided rides or Mountain bike skills courses.
If you have a group that wants to come Mountain biking or if you are visiting on your own then please get in touch to discuss different options. We have delivered Mountain biking for a wide range of client groups. Many with varying ability and fitness levels. Our mtb instructors always try to adjust the level of challenge to give you the best day possible. This is some of what we do:
- Always do a bike check and look at your bike set up even if it’s hired.
- Look at gear changing and braking.
- Look at body position and cornering to develop confidence along the way.
- Provide skills input on technical sections before sessioning some of these.
- Offer feedback and try to eliminate any bad habits that may have developed.
In the Peak District there are many miles of technical bridleways and byways to ride. Easier self ride options include the disused railway lines of the Monsal and High Peak Trails.
Our Mountain bike instructors live and work in the Peak District so know all of the trails and hidden gems. They will work with you to offer you the best day in the time available. If you need to hire a bike then we can recommend where to get them from. Please note that we insist that everyone wears a helmet and gloves whilst riding with us as part of your personal safety gear. If you bring your own bike please ensure that it is in a good condition.
On most of our rides we can build in a much needed café stop which seems to be a must for all mountain bikers.
