Caving Courses in The Peak District
Our Caving trips offer an exciting opportunity to explore what lies beneath your feet. The caving instructors we use live locally and know all of the cave systems like old friends. This allows us to offer you a great day out regardless of what the weather throws at us.
On our group Caving trips, we will give you an amazing underground experience. This doesn't mean that you have to squeeze through tight holes, although they can be included! Dolomite's caving instructors can take you abseiling beside waterfalls or lower you down mined entrance shafts. They can chat about the cave formations and travel back in time to when the caves were just beginning. You will look at fossils and stalactites or stalagmites and be taken to places where very few people have been.
With smaller groups we can offer more adventurous caving trips depending on how daring you want to be. These trips have more vertical elements to them and involve some abseiling and climbing wire ladders. For these courses you will need a reasonable level of fitness and should be happy with heights.
For a more gentle family approach to caving we can explore more horizontal cave systems or some of the old lead mines that Derbyshire is famous for. Please note that the level of challenge is adjusted to suit you on all of our caving courses. Trip Advisor shows how our reputation has developed for all of our caving courses in the UK and Peak District.
We provide you with caving suits, welly boots, gloves, helmets, lights and all other technical equipment. You will need to bring warm clothing to wear underneath our caving suits. This activity can be wet so a change of clothes is advised depending on the level of challenge.
