We offer a bespoke Navigation Course to groups of all sizes. These include ramblers clubs or walking groups that would like to learn some navigation skills. Our instructors are there to support and encourage you whilst sharing their knowledge and skills to help you develop in the time available.
This type of navigation course would suit small groups of people who have limited navigation skills. Equally it would suit those who lack the confidence to be responsible for reading the map for friends and family.
If you have a small group then a course can be arranged on dates that suit you. For smaller or larger groups please contact us for a clear price.

Our Navigation courses can start from our main office on the edge of the Peak District. We introduce you to the course and look at the fundamentals of map reading and get an idea of the main areas to focus on when we get out on the ground.
After this course people are generally excited about getting out there for themselves to put into practice what they have learnt.
Course Prerequisites: The desire to learn and improve your map reading skills.
Suitable clothing to keep you warm and dry for the expected weather (check a forecast for this area or call us) carry a waterproof or windproof jacket. You will need a pair of walking boots for most of the day, a packed lunch and drink. Bring some cash as we can always find a café for tea and cake. Maps (OL1 & OL24) and compasses can be provided.
