Choosing Activities

From exploring limestone caves to climbing iconic gritstone crags, weaselling to orienteering our outdoor adventure activities are tailored to all ages and abilities.

Climbing – Building Confidence on the Rock

As one of our popular activities, climbing is a great way for students to overcome challenges, work together, and boost their confidence.

Our instructors provide expert guidance on top-rope and bottom-rope climbing systems at classic crags such as Stanage Edge, Burbage, and Harborough Rocks. These sites are ideal for beginners and budding climbers alike, with plenty of options for those seeking to push their limits.

We provide all equipment, including harnesses, helmets, and ropes. Students also gain a basic understanding of belaying, safety systems, and rock formations, including famous Peak District gritstone and some limestone venues depending on your chosen area.

These school-friendly outdoor activities are tailored by age and ability, and ideal for public services students working towards outdoor elements of their qualifications.

Weaselling & Rock Scrambling – Perfect for Fun & Exploration

Weaselling adventures in the Peak District are a real hit with younger students. Set in safe, scenic locations, weaselling involves exploring natural holes, squeezing through gaps and tunnels, and scrambling over boulders.

It’s low to the ground, high on excitement, and brilliant for teamwork, communication, and confidence building. These sessions help pupils learn to manage their movement, assess risk, and, most importantly, have a great time outdoors.

We adapt our sessions depending on age and ability, meaning this is an ideal activity to keep everyone engaged, active and on the move. Theres no waiting around to take a turn, making it perfect for those with active minds and itchy feet!

Caving – Explore the Underground World

If you’re wondering where to go caving in the Peak District with a school group – you’ve found it. The limestone cave and mine systems around Castleton, Hope Valley, Bradwell, and Stoney Middleton offer the perfect subterranean classroom.

Students can expect to explore a fascinating mix of natural caves and mine systems, learning about geology, local history, and underground safety.

We provide full caving gear including suits, helmets, lights, gloves, and wellies, and even advice on the best packed lunches that work underground! All our caving experiences are fully insured and led by instructors with vertical and horizontal caving qualifications, plus AALA licenses for unaccompanied under-18s.

Abseiling – A Big Challenge with a Big Reward

Few things top the feeling of leaning back over a cliff edge for the first time! Our abseiling sessions are designed to build courage and trust, all under the supervision of fully qualified and insured instructors.

We provide all technical gear and use pre-inspected, secure locations in the Peak District. Students learn how to manage equipment and support each other, all while conquering one of the most exhilarating outdoor adventure activities in the Peak District.

We also support charity abseil events, offering complete logistics, safety setup, and insurance cover.

Stream and Gorge Scrambling – Get Wet, Get Adventurous

Stream Scramble

Stream scrambling is an exciting activity that blends walking, climbing, and splashing your way through flowing water. It’s ideal for warmer months, and a firm favourite with students who love hands-on, fast-paced fun.

We’ll suit you up and lead your group safely through gentle streams and small waterfalls. These sessions are fantastic for team building, balance, and group decision-making. We tailor everything to group size, age, and ability – and safety is always our top priority.

Team Building – Strengthen Connections, Develop Skills

Whether your aim is to build leadership, improve communication, or just bring students closer together, our team-building activities offer something for everyone.

We run in-school team building days, on and off-site activity challenges, and problem-solving tasks designed around your group’s age and goals. Great for KS2 and KS3 and also ideal for staff bonding days and public services group training.

Activities may include orienteering, scavenger hunts, communication games, bushcraft-inspired challenges, climbing and abseiling – all of which support curriculum-linked outcomes and help pupils discover new skills.
